You must check your local building codes first! Many cities prevent you from eliminating a place to park your car.
Then you really should talk to a licensed contractor. Get permits and follow all the building codes, or you will be in a world of hurt when it comes time to sell your house.

Do you mean design advice or inspiration? If so, a couple of TV shows recently did this. There was an episode of Room Crashers where the lady had her garage turned into a sort of French country office for her counseling clients. There was also an episode of the show with Jeff Lewis with Therapy in the title with Ross Mathews as the guest and they converted their garage into like a den.
