What inspired you to use color? I've never lived any place where I was allowed to paint before. While I was planning my new condo, I found this bright, friendly orange table online and it kind of kicked off a whole chain reaction. I got orange paint to match, then a lighter tone to complement that. Then an art-major friend suggested a pattern for the living room wall and helped me put that together. I wanted green in the bedroom to have something fun and happy and cooling to wake up to. I chose dark browns and simple, modern lines for the furniture to give some order and practicality to the bright colors.
Color Tip: Keep in mind the mood that you'll want to inspire when you wake up and see those walls every day.
Colors Used: Custom oranges. 'scottish isle' green.
Fall Colors Introduction -------------------------------
Welcome, everyone, to our Fourth Annual Fall Colors Sharing & Contest. We're looking for the most beautiful & colorful home in the world and sharing all of the great ideas we get with our readers. This year we're amping things up and hoping to do things better than ever. There are two basic phases, the Sharing Phase and the Voting Phase...
1. Sharing Phase - you comment, judges decide
The 40 best, completed entries will be posted on a daily basis for three weeks. You can view them all at anytime via our new, improved contest pages under ALL ENTRIES. During this time your comments are VERY IMPORTANT as our six judges will be choosing 16 finalists from each region based on comments and their own colorful opinion.
2. Voting Phase - you vote till you drop
Starting October 20th, finalist voting will begin on a daily basis through our new bracketed voting system, which will pit our 16 finalists against one another until only one remains. Sound exciting? We hope so.
Best, Maxwell

that argyle wall is amazing! I agree....tutorial please!!!
This is Ben. Thanks for the comments, everybody! I actually documented the process of painting that wall here: http://flickr.com/photos/benfest/sets/72157600029663167/
Basically, pins in the corners/centers of the wall edges, strings between them to make straight lines, lots and lots of tape along the lines, painting every other section the contrasting color.
drooling over your wall.
Love the argyle!!!

That argyle wall is really working for me!
Oh, the prepster in me is LOVING the argyle wall. I've been addicted to argyle since I was a wee lass, and currently I think I have at least 10 argyle sweaters in my closet.
Brilliant idea. Kudos.
Ooh, where's the wine bottle/glass rack from. Love it.
Oops, meant there to be a question mark in there somewhere.
I bought it on Amazon, here, and then when it turned out to have a cheapo vinyl-and-particle-board shelf, I had a custom piece of glass cut. Love it, now.
Amazing color and design. I freakin' love it. I love the bathroom shower curtain. And the green is the bedroom is really energizing in a calm, nurturing way.
