Allow me to go into fantasy mode for a moment and pretend I have a large, shady porch where my family can spend lazy summer days reading, talking and dozing on a big suspended bed. Julie, who blogs at Life at Fire Lake Camp, had dreamed of a hanging bed since she was a little girl and now her dream has been realized on her front porch. I especially like that it's a foot or so larger than the mattress so there's space to put books, magazines, lemonade and other essential elements of a lazy summer afternoon.
Check out Life at Fire Lake Camp to see how this hanging bed was constructed and hung and to see how it was put to use by Julie's visiting granddaughters.
