Since we're within walking distance of all the new shops that have sprung up on Sunset, we decided to take an exploratory afternoon stroll last Saturday. One of the boutiques that we happened to wander into was called Spitfire Girl. Once inside, we quickly got acquainted with their endless variety of home decor items.

The concept for Spitfire Girl started way back when Kristin Schroder (store owner) came up with the idea for "box card" invites. From there, the postcards designed on cherry wood took off in an array of directions (landing on everything from bookmarks to journals to large, covet-worthy artwork). It's a family affair with Kristen and hubby (and even her 12 year old daughter) designing most of the original drawings. The store combines a bit of whimsy, a bit of magic and overall, tons of fun. Bright colored poufs, eye-catching artwork and one of our new party trick faves--shadow cards to entertain or display.

oooh, I'm going to have to venture into the city to check this out! Thanks for the post - the large wood wall hanging with trees trunks on it would be perfect in my forest themed bedroom. And very meta to boot.
