But I do like what they did with the table--though it seems like the lamp would kind of get in the way.

Well, I didn't sense animosity between the two of them, just 2 people unused to being in front of a camera. How refreshing. I liked what they did to the room (except for the lamp; I would be tripping over that constantly) and how they explained what they were doing.

That was quite nice. This was definitely a great example of what sponsored posts should be more like.

I loved the lamp. In fact, it really was one of the items that added to the vintage appeal. In fact, I would like to see more examples of this concept. Are there other websites that have similar videos?

Great room and good to see a manufacturer encouraging us to recycle existing furniture. That's what pepole have to do in real life. Although I would argue that the Orbit chair is a vintage piece too. I do wish they have used a less "modern-looking" table. Speaking of real life, I don't think the lamp would work in real life because it limits circulation around the table. But a similarly shaped hanging lamp would work great.

I worked at CB2 three years ago for a few months with the intentions of scooping up some furntiture on the cheap (which I did) while breaking the monotony of working from home all day. I worked with Vance quite regularly and I'd have to say that he definitely wasn't showing any animosity toward the other designer. He just knows what works, and when it doesn't, he spots it immediately.

And to mojo, your post I just can't comprehend. If you negate everything you wrote, it makes sense. But I think they made it abundantly clear that it was sponsored. And also, the point that they were working around only 1 vintage piece!

I liked it. I particularly enjoyed hearing their reasons for making the choices that they did.

Great way to handle the sponsored posts! I really hated the faux-blog sponsored Room and Board posts but this works much better. I can't imagine there would be any confusion when the post clearly states the film is from CB2. I almost didn't click on it because I was so put off by the Room and Board stuff, but I am glad I did.

This is definitely the way to go with in depth sponsored pieces.

I liked the little film - but I have to agree w/ Mojo that it would have been more interesting to have them incorporate more vintage pieces than just the table...

I thought it was a good first. The designers came off a little scatterbrained, but the part with the place-mats was cute. The new and old trick is an important on to remember, but the oversized/undersized clock is a big no no in my book. Stick to art; support the local community or make your own. For the horn thing I would not even imply taking a trophy from an animal, but it looked good on the wall.

Good effort and keep it up!

well I liked it... the end result didn't really capture my style, but I liked watching what they did. Clearly indicated sponsored posts seems fine to me.

i enjoyed the sponsored post. i like watching rooms come to life. my only hurdle is that no matter how much i might try to like CB2, i just don't. i wouldn't bring one of their pieces home. it all looks so cheaply mass-produced.

not impressed. . easy to match black/white/red. . .not to mention they only have ONE piece of retro furniture, where I think most of us out there have more vintage pieces than new modern pieces. . not to mention they have a whole inventory of products to choose from and no budget. . . not impressed. . that wasn't a how to at all. .

Like many previous comments, I am NOT impressed at all, even tough, the video idea to advertise the company was good, but, it can really backfire on them.....it had a lack of design skills, furniture selection and functionality to the room!

In the real world, how long would you take to move that floor lamp out of your way? Beautiful lamp, but, not used correctly.... Ok, dinning table, but wrong chairs..... red credenza is fine, but, why do you want to "highlight" the cheapest furniture of the room?

To make a long story short......after you watched this promotional (advertising) video, are you going to buy the CB2 furniture? it's a NO for me (...and I am not even talking about their furniture quality).... their furniture didn't look good even in a production video w/ design professionals, so, imagine at home!!! So, how efficient was the advertising???

Sorry, not trying to "trash" anyone here, I am just giving my honest opinion!

I think some of the CB2 pieces would look good sparingly with more vintage or already existing pieces of furniture. The table is great and I really like the chairs they chose. That clock is probably one of my least favorite items from CB2.
