We've looked at Spoonflower both on the Los Angeles and San Francisco sites. Today, The New York Times looks at the North Carolina-based company that allows anyone to upload designs and have them printed on combed cotton...
We're excited to hear that upholstery-weight canvas should be available soon — perfect for small scale reupholstery projects! Currently, combed cotton custom-printed fabric is $18 a yard, or $5 for an eight-by-eight-inch swatch at spoonflower.com. Be sure to look at their Fabric of The Week Contest.

how wide is their fabric? what is the weight of the cotton? this concept is great.
Hmm, doesn't a North Carolina-based company show that AT really needs a Mid-Atlantic blogger south of DC, possibly based in Raleigh or High Point?
I agree HillE!
I've been on Spoonflower for a little while now, and do believe it is nice. ha said, only having the material in, albeit good quality, thin quilt-weight cotton puts a damper on any desire I have for the product. Once they get heavier home-dec canvas... well, I'll be all over it.
