Today, I want to do something I rarely do and not say much. I first found Lydia Bassis' drawings in a small shop in Montauk, NY, and was immediately drawn to them. A friend then bought one and put in her guest room, where I've often stayed, so I've had the pleasure of seeing it many more times. It never gets old, and it's so simple. Presenting Lydia Bassis.

Shaw's Original Fir...
These pieces are beautiful! Their simplicity is deceptive though, because it's hard to imagine how much care and work went into producing them.
Thank you.
Love them! :)
I'm confused.
not particularly impressed.
Lovely and original work. Appreciate seeing fine art on the blog. More, please!
Love them too.
Not impressed.
Immediately wonderful!
honestly, these look like the doodles I did as a kid. I guess there's a charm in that, but don't over think them. Oh, and yes I have a BFA.
Having attended college with her at UW, I can tell you she is an extremely talented and detailed artist. She's lovely. Check out some of her prints.
