From The Kitchn → Copper Countertops: Would You Do It?
While I'm sure it could look really nice (in perhaps an European pub sorta way) I would never be able to live with a counter top like the one pictured for the same reason I can't tolerate textured dishes: I'd never feel like it was clean.
I sure would!
I make copper jewelry and I've ALWAYS wanted copper in my home. Maybe someday we'll replace the island countertop with a copper top...Also, copper has antibacterial properties! That makes it ideal for countertops, especially in food prep areas! =)
That roughened texture would not be very functional next to the kitchen sink as shown. It would be great on an island or other section of the kitchen that doesn't have to work for food prep. I just can't get on board with anything that's form over function.
It looks beautiful! I would certainly consider it. I imagine, though, that it might be cost prohibitive for me.
