Made of a single form, the Spring Chair reduces material waste in production and curves in a sexy shape that looks great. Made of molded bamboo, many plies are built up to hold the signature s-shape of the chair.

Though we have not sat in one, Modern Bamboo says the chair is ergonomically designed for contoured comfort. This chair sounds like a winner any way we look at it.
Avaialbe in 3 finishes: cherry, ebony, and natural bamboo.

Modern bamboo also has some really sexy end tables/stools. A leetle pricey but still wonderful to look at http://www.modernbamboo.com/beccastool.html .
How weather resistant are these chairs, and bamboo products in general? I saw some bamboo rugs on sale at Crate and Barrel, and thought of using them outdoors, but I wondered whether they would hold up to rain/sun, etc.
What's the weight limit on these babies? The website and the PDF have no details. They look gorgeous but I'd be afraid that too much weight too much rocking motion would spell trouble.
Anyone have pricing information?

$690-710
That's a lot of $$ for a bamboo chair.
Is it greener than sitting on a $20 Ikea stool?
MrGreen, did you audition to be an editor for AT:Green? Since you are a wealth of knowledge on the subject (you MUST be... it's in your name!!) and seem to have a very strong opinion about how a blog should be run, you seem to be a natural candidate.. and "natural" is GREEN. Yay.
Plus, if you were an editor for AT:Green, I could so easily avoid your posts, all at once. Win-win!
You never emailed me, so the war wages on, baby.
Thank god someone said it, P(too)
I love the look of these chairs, simple and beautiful - but my husband says molded wood in a curve like this will snap. I wouldn't want to buy them if they're not going to last. Does anyone have any experience with molded wood chairs (either these specifically or ones built in a similar way?
