Floral patterns can sometimes be written off as outdated and frou frou, but I'm of the mindset that there are even more ways for them to add interest, color, and texture. They can be soft and feminine as in Image 2 or bold and graphic like the Marimekko fabrics in Images 4 and 8. While they look beautiful as a high-impact wall covering (Images 2, 5, and 6), even a small dose will add a little softness and color (Images 7, 9, and 10). I also have a soft spot for vintage-style flower prints, as in Lisa Stickley's bedding (Image 3) and the pillows in the last two images.

Shaw's Original Fir...
I love working florals into design.. but I live with a man. (A stylish one who loves about anything i do in the house but still..) I feel like the pic with the red chair shows a good mix of masculine/feminine that I could aim for. Thanks!
@RiseUpSinging You're pretty much dead on...men who are iffy on florals don't have a problem with the flowers themselves; it's usually the presentation! Pinks and purples are feminine, whereas red is more gender neutral. I find that men who don't like florals will respond much better to a bold statement rather than a soft one...so less Monet and more Marimekko!
To # 2 and #6 I say "oooh!" - in totally different styles but still pretty rocking.
#7 - is mid-DIY-project now a design element? I'm so confused.
I am in love with floral prints! These are gorgeous. I love the pop of yellow in the bathroom shown.
I love those chairs. Love them. Want them.
1, 2, 3, 4 & 6 YES! Love a bold, graphic floral. I think if the flowers in the floral are too realistic, then it gets frou-frou.
Love them all.....but number six in my fav!
(Number 5 makes me smile. My mom was always trying to brighten up our sad rentals with wall collages like this one. . . .) As for me, I like 1, 2, 6, and 7.
