- Inspiration for my palette:
- I started out with the artwork hanging above my bed. I liked the restful, whimsical feel the piece had, even with its saturated colors, in particular the bright red. As someone who enjoys bold color choices, when I found the aqua table lamp set, I knew I had my palette together. The room really began to form from there.
- Colors used in my room
- Primarily reds and aqua blues with some gold accents.
- Tips for using color successfully
- While I let my beginning inspiration pieces lead the color direction of my room, I think it's important not to set too many rules. Not to get too matchy-matchy. It's nice to throw those finds in that don't necessarily fit under the color umbrella but still fit with the overall feeling. They add dimension but will still be somewhat anchored in by those initial color choices you make.

Room for Color
This room is neat without looking staged. It looks like a nice, cozy, real place to sleep or read in bed :)
Your room has a very nice, nostalgic feeling. The vanity is so beautiful.
Oh so pretty.
Somehow reminds me of a Wes Anderson movie (in a good way!). Really nice and effortless use of different patterns and colors. Not sure if it's just the light in the photos, but the walls almost look very pale pink, which is awesome.
Yay for the snuggle cat!
I love this room! The floral print on the left is amazing.
I had that exact same yarn tapestry in my bedroom! Must have been a DIY vintage craft?! I just gave it away to Goodwill...now I wish I kept it. :)
Thank you, everyone, for your kind words. I am excited to have my photos shown along side such creative, beautiful living spaces. :)
I absoloutely need to know the wall color in this room!!! It is the exact shade I have been looking for for my own bedroom.
Really, really beautiful.
It is Olympic "Plaster Pink". And depending on how much light your room gets, you may want to go just a TWINGE darker. It can look white in certain lights (I only did the wall behind my bed, if you did a whole room, you might not have the contrast issue) Happy painting! :)

There's something very comfortable and calming about this room. Love it.
This is one of my favorite color combinations--red and (any kind of) light blue. I especially love the touches of green!
I love your palette, and those lamp bases are amazingly beautiful. You get a vote from a fellow contestant :)
I see now I had actually voted for your room as well! ^___^
I love this -- wish it was my bedroom!
