Stacked Houses are becoming a theme in modern architecture! Similar in concept to VitraHaus, the design of the new Inntell Hotel in Zaandam, the Netherlands appears to be comprised of iconic green wooden houses of the Zaan region piled on top of each other.
Boasting 160 rooms in the 11 story building, Inntel Hotels Amsterdam Zaandam was designed by Delft architects WAM Architecten.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Damn, another house from Kansas dropping into Munchkinland!
It looks like they're made out of legos.
my first thought was jenga anyone?
Oh, come on, everyone knows that it is the Dutch version of "The Burrow." Just imagine who lives there!
LOVE.
This appeals to me in ways I can't describe. All I know is that I want it to be across the street from me so I can look at it everyday.
agreed KayinKCMO!!
this really tickles my heart
Wow, I hate to be the sole dissenter, but dang, that is about the most hideously glaring example of "just because you can do it doesn't mean you should" I've ever seen.
I think it's beautiful.
I have to say I agree with AlmostAD. Plus it gives me vertigo just looking at it.
@tinyelephants I had the same thought...but I can't tell if it's a positive or negative for you. XD For me, it's definitely a positive.
OK, I have to admit, it did make me laugh. But come on. Seriously?
This kind of joke building is cute on paper, but actually having something this big and ugly on your skyline? Um, no.
And people moaned about the brutalist structures that went up in the '60s and '70s? At least most of those were somewhat neutral.
Also take a look at the stacked Dutch Pavilion "Happy Street" at the World Expo in Shanghai designed by artist John Körmeling. A bit less typical Dutch compared to the green wooden houses architecture of the Zaan region.

I would LOVE to spend some time in that hotel! It's so cool!
This is SO awesome! Seeing this in person must be amazing..
I am SO not digging this.
Europe has lost its marbles.
I'm with 40sfemme, this gives me vertigo just looking at it too. I don't think I could handle walking past this building let alone going in it!
I'm stuck somewhere between love and hate. I love it cuz it's whimsical and fun, but it does make me sort of confused/dizzy looking at it. My eye just doesn't know where to go.
Wow, Crazy!!
yikes
