3D printing is definitely making design more democratic. But what if you're not a CAD expert? Standard Objects gives you three ways to bring home 3D-designed pieces that range from DIY to totally hands-off.

The collection is built upon the adaptable 3D printed pieces: they fit standard materials you can grab at any hardware store, like plywood sheets and dowels. So you can pick your DIY level: 1. download the plans from Standard Objects and print your own connector pieces; 2. have them send you the connectors and you pick up the rest of the stuff from the hardware store; or 3. you can order a finished piece, fully assembled.

Each of the levels are available for preorder on Kickstarter.
