Gregory Peck mixed drinks behind a green leather bar. Jayne Mansfield bathed in a gold heart-shaped tub. James Dean's room would fit in perfectly on The Selby. If you need a dose of style inspiration, you might do well to peek at Architectural Digest's reel of golden age stars at home.
From the lavish (Sofia Loren's bedroom) to the relatively mundane (Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller's ramshackle garage), it's a fun look at where some very glamorous people lived their everyday lives.

Nomade Express Slee...
I wonder if pink shag carpeting on the walls will ever trend back. :)
I'm pretty sure Mr. Peck's bar is made from Nauga's, not cows: http://www.etsy.com/listing/80811136/1960s-nauga-monster-pair-rare
That gold tub is oddly shallow and too small to have a proper bath - the lying back and soaking for an hour kind. It's like a big sink, but on the floor.
Okay that slide show was fun!
I'm a total sucker for this stuff. I love seeing how old Hollywood royalty used to live. I have zero interest in today's Hollywood - it's that irreplaceable golden time when stars were really stars, now that's interesting!
I really thought this same thing was posted last week with Marilyn Monroe on the main photo. At any rate, I have to admit that seeing that Gregory Peck had such an ordinary-looking wife gave me funny -- and very unreasonable -- feelings. Sigh.
