Sawhorses are typically seen in workshops and on construction jobsites. But that's changed in recent years with lots of sawhorse-style table bases popping up in design and decor media. That doesn't mean you can't return to the source, however, for a down-and-dirty and affordable DIY. The sawhorses that are pictured above are available from:
- True Value, $24
- Home Depot, $30
- Sears, $55
- Amazon, $24

White Enamel Flatwa...
love it! i made my current desk out of a 20$ home depot door and two sawhorses. so chic, so simple and so cheap!!
surprised the $10 IKEA trestle is not listed
I love this look. The Ikea Lerberg legs are pretty inexpensive, too, if you don't want an actual saw horse.
Anybody else hear that?
A chorus of people thinking "DUH" with all of their being?
It's just me?
...oh.
We had a table like this at my old house, over 15 years ago. Simply because we had sawhorses and a spare bit of countertop from finishing the basement, and an empty space in the laundry room.
Love this years ago my father made his office desk with Sawhorses and a solid core door painted black it was so cool looking.
@bodicegoddess...Hahaha! Good one!
I think using a sawhorse for a dining table base is just too many legs.
A desk, maybe.
A work bench, sure.
But a dining table? nuh-uh! Instant crowding and figety-leg problems.
A little bit more industrial-minimalist looking than the actual sawhorses... and also quite a bit cheaper. Everyone at the big flea markets has these.

They're very thin and cool.

The IKEA VIKA system has several varieties of sawhorse-style legs as well: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/categories/departments/workspaces/11845/
@KerryNM- I agree with you.. however, it just now occurs to me that you would not necessarily have to open the saw horses, as long as you secured them to the table top. Worth the trouble for the yellow or orange, in my opinion.
