Looking for a touch of minimalistic elegance to spruce up that office space? Check out the Home Habitat Desk - it's sleek, customizable, and reminds us of IKEA's discontinued infamous JERKER series desk turned professional L-shape. Anyone still sporting one of those old school behemoths out there?

The desk comes in two other varieties, white laminate and walnut and is available now for $900. That's pretty cheap for a professional desk, but a bit expensive for any incoming college students. If only they still made JERKERs...

Omigosh, I have a desk that looks much like that, but it came from OfficeMax or Staples in 2001. The thing is heavy as hell, made of particle board, and has traveled to several cities with me, including all the way across the country (PA to CA). The Habitat one looks sleeker than mine, and given that mine is really starting to fall apart, this could be a great replacement!
I still have my jerker. I have the tabletop very high so that I can stand at it (but I also have an adjustable, ergonomic stool). I've installed a retractable keyboard tray. I have two swing shelves and two regular shelves. I've hooked up power strips (plugged into two separate Uninterruptible Power Supplies) attached behind the metal crossbar. If I want to move the desk to a new location in my bedroom, I only have to disconnect two power cords and then slide it over.
The desk makes everything self contained!
