Stella & Hazel's Happy, Girly Shared Room

My Room

Name: Stella (3) & Hazel (20 months)
Location: Wicker Park, Chicago, Illinois

We decided to move our two girls together to the same room to transition the nursery to a playroom. I wasn't sure how it would turn out with a 3-year-old and 20-month-old sharing the same room, but it has gone surprisingly well! My sister and I shared a room until we were in middle school and I always enjoyed that growing up. I'm hoping our girls will want to share a room for many years to come.

Making a shared bedroom required just a few tweaks to my oldest daughter's existing big girl room. The blue and pink color palette and whimsical wall of Suzy Ultman prints were remnants of her room. The big kraft letters over the girls beds were my favorite addition to the new shared space. I bought each of them for $10 at Joann Crafts and my 3 year old helped me paint them with purple acrylic craft paint. We hung them up on the wall with 3M Command hooks.

The artwork bunting above my younger daughter Hazel's crib is another favorite aspect of the room - as is their shared dresser which includes a framed photo of them at each of their latest birthday parties!

It is a girly, happy space where a lot of laughs have already been shared by the two sisters and hopefully many happy memories to come!
