- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- I love the bay windows in my bedroom, so classically San Francisco! I can work at the desk and people watch below and view the beautiful architecture across the street. The room is pretty large, which is great since it is a multifunctional space: a music and design studio, bedroom for two, and a cat's sanctuary from the dog.
- What are your tips for creating a beautiful, healthy and organized bedroom?
- I like having lots of open shelving to display all of my books, magazines, and many little prized possessions. Its easy to keep things organized when you have the things you love most on display. Things I want to hide I put in little storage bins in the closet. The Japanese $1.50 store, Daiso, is my favorite place to get useful small storage items and organizational tools.
- In modern homes, bedrooms have become more than just a place to sleep; they can be a retreat, a home office, a library, a relaxation zone. What are some ways you make the most of your bedroom?
- I am very lucky and had my talented dad build some custom furniture to best utilize the space in the room. He made the huge bay window shaped desk that is perfect as a workspace for two. And oddly enough, my favorite piece of furniture in the room is the litter box, because when you first see it, you can't tell what its real use is!

I thought it was a kid's room until I started reading. I cannot vote for a litter box in the bedroom. Nope.
That window and work area is lovely- so much space and light! Can you tell me where your bedside wall-mounted reading scones are from?
LOVE!!! so bright and cheerful!
Looks nice, I really like the bedside lamps as well (where are they from?). The little box doesn't bother me at all. If it's cleaned every day and it's hidden in a nice piece of furniture then it's fine. There are a lot of people who don't have room to put a litter box that's out of the way. I'd rather it in the bedroom than the kitchen :)
Nice job!
Litterboxes just go with the territory of having a pet. People have bathrooms, cats have litterboxes. If a litterbox can't go into a bathroom, it's better that it's hidden in a piece of furniture instead.
This room is darling — love all the colors and the cozy details. Where is the litter box though?! You're right — it's so well hidden that I can't even spot it. (I want to get a cat soon, but the litter box eyesore is a big thing holding me back...this might make me rethink it!)

Best Coast poster! I love that band! You have a wonderful bedroom :-)
The litterbox, as best as I can tell, is the third photo. Notice the little doormat!
Your dad did a great job with the desk. It's perfect.
Such a fun space and the desk your dad built is one of the best I've seen!
Was the litterbox a hack of something? The size and style of that little cabinet are great - I'd love to know the source.
Great architectural details and wood flooring.
This is a fun room. Love the litter box, though I agree if you have any other space for it (other than the kitchen, of course!) it would be better than the bedroom.
You got my vote. Note to Paula: How is this for a non-eyesore litter?

And please, if you do get a cat, adopt don't shop!
Very nice and colourful but those curtains in that state are just awful. To see them all askew like that would drive me insane. Any kind of roll-up blind would be so much better. (Sorry to rant but this is just my pet peeve. The only thing worse is when people gather them together and tie them in the middle - that looks even worse from the outside)
I adore this, very sweet, my ideal room!
Stephanie, this room is colorful and inviting. Ignore the litter box comments because had you not mentioned it, 99% of the commenters wouldn't have known it was there! I myself have gone over that room twice and I still can't find it! That just goes to show that it's a non-factor! The room is beautiful, playful and great for napping. Love the natural light!
HI I love your room, being a happy cat owner I knew immediately that the litter box was the red chest with the coir mat. I keep litter box in the bathroom, do you keep the cat in the bedroom all the time? I have no problem with Litter trays, we keep them clean and so what. He is a lovely cat and looks comfy.
Curtains aren't really my thing, but I love them! I kind of like the askew look, and obviously they aren't pulled back all the time. The dark blue color pops against everything else. The litter box cabinet is so clever, and if that is the only place you have to put it then you've done a great job at finding a way to deal with it. And your dad did a REALLY great job with your desk. It's perfect.
I added this to favorite because the cat litterbox was well hidden. I miss having a cat. The room is also nice btw.
