What I Love About My Small Home:
I'd say the cozy layout is my favorite part about my tiny pad. The open living area is a larger version of my old one bedroom apartment and all the spaces are connected by a comfortable cozy hallway that reminded of my college dorm days. Whenever I have friends spending the night, there is a sense of summer camp coziness when we greet each other in the hallway first thing in the morning. Another one of my favorite thing is the huge outdoor space that I am just starting to tackle!
Three of My Best Tips and Tricks for Creating a Successful Small Space::
Having a great design connection! With my busy work schedule as an RN, the move from a one bedroom apartment to a two bedroom house turned out to be more than what I bargained for. Thankfully I have a sister who is an interior designer who rescued me from my decorating hell.
Mix of new and thrift finds give my place a lived in yet fresh feel! My sister and I searched high and low on Craigslist as well as all the flea markets for all the right impact pieces to be combined with our super store discount finds. I love coming home after a long work day to my happy colorful oasis.
I tried incorporate furniture and accessories with storage/dual function to hide all the not so pretty stuff. A clutter-free house is definitely the key to a spacious "feeling" interior!
