Growing up in the deep south we were year-round bubble blowers, so it had never occurred to us that bubbles are considered a seasonal item in other parts of the country. A certain toddler's new obsession has motivated a bubble buying campaign that has us scouring the racks for bubbles in the waning midwestern summer days.
The bad news is that many stores are completely sold out, but the good news is that stores with remaining inventory have moved their bubbles to the clearance racks. Given the intensity of the aforementioned toddler's fixation, we imagine that we will be out chasing bubbles until the first frost, so we have been stockpiling bubble machines, fancy wands and all sorts of bubble accoutrements. As an added bonus, we have built this arsenal of bubbly goodness at a hefty discount. Like a family of squirrels building our winter stash of nuts, so we have been packing away our favorite form of summer fun.
Have you ever gone in search of a toy or game only to learn that it's the wrong time of year? Do you stock up on any seasonal kids items?
