It's quite the eventful Pride this year in New York City; in addition to the Supreme Court's landmark marriage equality ruling this morning, MoMA acquired the rainbow flag, and The Stonewall Inn was made a permanent city landmark.

Unanimously approved on Tuesday by the Landmarks Preservation Commission, the designation affords the tavern a new set of protections. The Greenwich Village bar was the site of the 1969 Stonewall riots, marking the first time city landmark status has been awarded to a place because of its role in the Gay Rights Movement.
