My friends are really good about splitting the bill. In fact, most of the time these generous friends overpay. Alas, the same can't be said when friends of friends are thrown into the mix. There's always that one guy* who always orders several drinks, a myriad of appetizers only he wants to eat, dines on the most expensive entree, and polishes off everyone's dessert, yet somehow believes everyone should evenly pay for his indulgence. No more of that nonsense when armed with Billr, a bill-splitting app...

Billr can handle the tab for a party up to 16 people, itemizing what everyone ordered with gratuity included for each person. Users can even email or SMS the total breakdown to everyone so they can review last night's meal and determine I did indeed eat way more than everyone else as always suspect
Available for .99 cents via Apple iTunes.
* I order like that dude, but always pay my fair share! But I will eat your dessert if you leave any.

But this will really not win you any friends. You'll just look like the penny pincher at your table
You've got a point, DL20, but I'd rather be known as the penny pincher than the dope who is always expected to subsidize everyone else's dinner and drinks. I've had occasions when my part of the bill was $25, yet somehow I've wound up paying $50. Goodbye to all that!
This is okay but I really like to use Bill Split OCR, you take a picture of the receipt and then tap each line item with a color representing the person and it will split the Bill, Taxes and Tip (if included) for you pretty each. You can also email your friends and or yourself a copy of the check and how it was split.

I have yet to find a restaurant these days that can't split the bill. One simple "separate bill please" and I have done away with all of these issues.
I am of the idea that you are there to spend times with friends and the bill should just be wacked up in that manner. If you have 4 people, split it four ways! Who needs to be the guy going "well Mike and I split the app so we have that but Bill took a chicken wing!" So maybe there is someone who doesn't eat, then it is understood but come on, these apps make you look like a total cheapskate when you go out! Just enjoy your time out or plan to meet the group somewhere else.
Glad you're into it, Yoboseyo!
Stephen, Ivy and I built the app to solve a problem we have all the time at college. We eat most meals with friends, and lots of lower-cost restaurants won't split the bill more than 3-ways—if at all.
We designed Billr to be quick and fun. We find it useful, and we haven't been called cheap yet!
Thanks for posting about our app and happy dining!
