We've been on a major succulent kick for the past two weeks. It seems that every house we've visited lately has an amazing collection of these California staples. Our neighbor told us about the California Cactus Center in Pasadena--the ultimate source for succulents and cacti. More views after the jump.
Our Monday visit to the California Cactus Center was definitely the highlight of our week. Since it was a little outside of our native Echo Park, we already planned our next visit. We'll start the morning out with the flea market at the Rose Bowl, then a quick stop for inspiration at the Huntington Gardens, and we'll end up at the CCC (California Cactus Center).
The CCC staff was super helpful and we loved the resident cat, Sofia. On the website they highlight a plant of the month plus great resources for taking care of your new plants. And we love the fact that they provide pictures and information on each succulent and cactus.

It's also cool to note that they offer consultations, artistic landscape design and help with transplanting and growing--plus they deliver!
And finally, we loved the interesting containers they have in stock. Everything from Kone Pottery and Stoneware to Clay and Ceramic pots.

Lovely stuff! Wish they had something like that in my area. or maybe not... I'd spend too much.
Incidentally, I'm afraid my favorite nursery washed out to sea with Hurricane Ike. Their web site doesn't say anything about it, so I'm hoping they're OK.
Just beautiful!
I've been! It is cool, kind of expensive though.
