Walking down Michigan Avenue yesterday, we spotted a "Store Closing" notice at Pottery Barn's flagship Chicago location. Their Gold Coast shop will be leaving for good on June 20th, although other Chicago stores will stay open. Housewares and floor models are on sale for 50% off. Click below to see a few of the items we noticed on clearance sale...

In their notice, Pottery Barn did not list a reason for the store closing, but the busy shop was already half-emptied of sale goods. Just a month after the closing of their Soho store, we're wondering what other store closings we might see in the next few months. Does anyone have the dirt on the multiple PB shop closings?

people are seeing that their furniture is overpriced and underpar?
Good to know.
Their Prices are way to high for their qualities.
Maybe folks are finally realizing that they can get Flea-Market-style furniture at Flea-Markets.
do you know how much the moorish tile rugs were going for? Thanks!
I found out that their SoHo store is actually moving to a new location and not just closing down. The Michigan avenue store is closing because they will be expanding their North Avenue location in two years to a larger flagship space. It's a great time to get a good deal on sweet merchandise.
I just like looking at their catalog for ideas. Have to agree with everyone else - their stuff is just for show, really. I always prefer to give an old piece new life rather than overpay for something that looks old and is secretly kinda a piece of junk.
I have several PB furnishings in my house and I have been very happy with all. All have upheld wonderfully and looks like a million bucks.
