Most of the time the state of Nebraska isn't what one might think of as being a design hot spot. But a small store by the name of Nest is trying to change that perspective. Nest is a collection of consignment pieces, seconds and salvaged (and restored) vintage pieces. It's a place that isn't over priced or snooty and leaves you feeling like you are bringing home a real treasure. Click through for our 20 photo tour of this great Midwestern store!

This set of 6 orange good form chairs were priced at $250 total. If they were to be found on Craigslist in any other city it is quite possible that would be the asking price per chair. So make sure you come with a truck or be prepared to rent a Uhaul upon leaving as there are deals upon deals within their brick walls.

Nest is a store who doesn't mark their prices up just because they can. They are fair prices for great mid century finds. All of their pieces were highly affordable (and worth the roadtrip for anyone within 6 hours of it) and in fantastic condition.
Here are some of the great things about Nest straight from their website:
off-street parking
factory outlet pricing
30-70% less than other retailers
specializing in Italian leather
vintage | modern | antique
select consignment
estate items
name brand luxury mattresses
buy | sell | trade
The pieces that are in their showroom aren't ones you take home and expect the typical amount of "vintage TLC" that can come with many stores. Just don't test our their mattresses or else you might find yourself in the market for a new one! All of their stock is testable, clean and well taken care of.

i live in omaha (next to lincoln)! nebraska's getting a little better. at least everything is unbelievably cheap because no one knows about "mid-century modern." check out this design guide about omaha!

There is a huge store exactly like this opening in Omaha in a few weeks. Its called Midwest Pickers on 37th and Leavenworth!
I live in Omaha and it's not often Nebraska is mentioned for unique retail. I'm super excited to hear about Midwest Pickers, I'll be there!! Nice to know I'm not alone here in the midwest :)
Thanks ewilde for sharing the Design Sponge post too. In general, we have a major advantage over other cities as far as the cost of anything goes- by the looks of AT's Craigslist posts!
