If you missed the premiere of Charles & Ray Eames: The Architect and the Painter on PBS, you'll be happy to know that it is now available for streaming online! Narrated by Jack-of-all-trades, James Franco, the documentary explores the influential designing husband and wife team.
"Charles and Ray have risen to iconic status in American culture. But their influence on significant events and movements in American life - from the development of modernism, to the rise of the computer age - has been less widely understood. Charles and Ray Eames are now profiled as part of American Masters." -American Masters
I definitely recommend cuddling up on the couch with some popcorn and your computer. (Feel free to take notes!) Watch the full documentary here, on the American Masters website.

Shaw's Original Fir...
I actually really enjoyed it, as I did not know much about their lives (though I sure covet their creations). I do agree that there were too many testimonials and I would have liked to see more of their work.
I watched this last night, and I enjoyed it. I would have liked more discussion about the innovation that emerged from new materials. It was interesting to learn more about the couple, specifically Ray.
Any way to stream the documentary from Europe?
The Eames design and manufacturing processes didn't get much play at all in this movie. Frankly, I was disappointed. That said, it did spark conversation. And maybe a sequel that actually discusses their work is in the making.
