Great minimalist look....until you have to cut sheetrock to replace the ballcock, flapper, flush valve, etc. Loses its appeal fast at the point.
I'm not big guy, but I would still fear that a cantilevered toilet would break off from the wall while I"m sitting on it.
I'm not a fan of the look, but it would be easy to clean under.
I love the look and cleanability, but the maintenance and repair issues I'd have to agree with.... Maybe some kind of access panel would work?
The design conservatism here occasionally surprises me.
When I gutted the main bathroom in my last house, I put in a Toto because I wanted the dual-flush option and because I liked the "skirt" that makes a clean vertical sheet of porcelain down to the floor instead of the usual descent into vaguely intestinal dust-catching gyri. Next best thing to a hatbox toilet, and much more affordable. But mine was floor-mounted. I've just learned that I want my home toilets to dispose downward, not to the side.
Considering design only these are extremely cool and I would be delighted to encounter one in a trendy hotel. For practical purposes of installing in my home where I have to pay for maintenance and repairs, no way in hell would I get one of these. A Duravit Happy D is as much design as I am willing to support.
These look very European and cool but the mechanism repair does concern me as well as how much weight they can support. It seems like there could be a happy middle ground with the down drain very close to the wall instead of in the wall.
I'm a fan of wall hung toilets, they're so much cleaner as there's nothing against the floor. I'm surprised they're so contentious - the one I had installed had a good looking square chrome plate on the wall above the toilet with the flush button in the middle - this is the access panel for any repairs/access to the cistern. And it hasn't dropped my 6'6", 230lb bloke on the floor yet....
I don't know ... A square toilet just seems like it would be uncomfortable to me and hard to get clean in the inner corners.
We have these, and they are great - save a lot of space, and easy cleaning. My partner weighs about 230 lb. No problems yet.
The toilets are tested to carry 880 lbs, they never break!
90% of toilets sold in Germany are wall-mounted... there nothing you should be worried in terms of maintenance.
There is no ballcock or flapper. If you would really need to replace the flush valve it can be easily done by tacking of the flush plate. You can service the tank through the opening.

This info in inaccurate. The term 'flush valve' can be all encompassing but the parts exist whatever term you choose to employ...the toilet would not function without them. Just sayin...
