Sometimes creating an at-home escape is all about simplifying and letting go of the quest for the perfect, high-design piece. To us, these cotton striped rugs from Dash and Albert give off that beachy, no-worries vibe. They're classic, laid-back, and (best of all) relatively cheap...

J. Platt Rugs outside Toronto also has some exceptional stripped flat-weave rugs: http://stylenorth.ca/blog/2008/08/shops-j-platt-rugs/
They're selling these at Porte Rouge on Division St. I bought one for my kitchen - love it!!
Dash & Albert's rugs are colorful, really well made and inexpensive. I love them! I have a runner in my hallway and one in my kitchen. I even have one of their indoor/outdoor rugs by my kitty's litter box. It doesn't look or feel like a traditional "outdoor" rug either. They'd be great for childrens rooms too.
They don't sell directly to the public so I went to their website first to check out the designs and then I ordered them from www.lavenderfieldsonline.com They sent me a 15% discount card with my order and I'm planning on ordering another rug.
I rent and don't have a huge fund for home decor so this has been one of my best finds!
