We were really surprised when we actually liked the flooring in the first image above. The idea of contrasting wood floors doesn't sound so hot, but when we laid eyes on it, something just clicked:
The find from Design Hole led us on a search for more striped wood that was appealing despite our initial instinct. We turned up a painted-and-natural contrasting floor via Decor Pad, something similar at Cottage Living, and the subtle painted porch planks at Young House Love.
What do you think of the look you get when installing contrasting wood planks, whether stained or painted?
