I recently popped in for a behind the scene look at Appetite studio, the site of my favorite hand printed homeware company. Erin Albin, owner of Appetite, graciously gave me a tour and let me snap a few photos to share with you.
The studio is located on the third floor of a shabby brick building in the heart of Portland Oregon. One step inside the door and you can feel the creativity! Appetite specializes in hand printed creations of home goods, bags and accessories. The main tabletop is stained with past prints Erin has created over the last six years. Two small sewing stations are all her team uses to construct their handmade product. To top it off, Erin uses eco friendly techniques in her production such as non-toxic water based pigments and repurposed materials.
Most of Erin’s custom patterns are inspired by the natural world and organic images. I took a sneak peak at her new designs set to launch in the upcoming weeks. The latest patterns are geometric, abstract, and gender neutral. Perfect for all women who love the Appetite style but can’t convince their husbands to go for flowers.
The company has steadily expanded and now shows their collection in several boutiques throughout the country. For a full list of locations check out Appetite's blog. The reasonable pricing and lovely prints just can’t be topped!
