This light was developed with the goal of creating a light source that was safe for using for extended hours while studying. It's true that not all lights are good for this task. The StudyLite won a Red Dot award for its design, which is kind of awesome as well.

The StudyLite is also a rechargeable desk lamp, which was developed in India. The lamp is UV- and IR-free. It was designed using research by the Sankara Nethralaya eye institute. The batteries will power the light for six hours, so even when you don't have access to electricity or run out of power, you will be able to hit the books.

The LED bulbs that come with this lamp are good enough to last 100,000 hours. The lamp itself comes with a 2-year warranty. For now, the lamp sells in India for about $38.17, which is pretty awesome. We haven't seen a price on the StudyLite website for online orders outside of India, but our guess is that it won't be that expensive.

This is a pretty useful lamp, especially since it can last so long without needing a recharge. It's true that sometimes, you need light in places that were a plug isn't easy to reach, so this light makes a lot of sense. Naturally, it makes even more sense if you home doesn't have any electricity, which is possible in developing countries.
