Every time I read The Cat in the Hat to my kids, I am always struck by the color scheme. I've always loved the teal, red, and coral of Dr. Seuss's illustrations, and although I'd probably never go so far as to actually implement a room like this in my house, it's fun to dream!

This is awesome. Our nursery when we planned for either a boy or girl ended up being this exact color scheme, AND theme. We did it in red, blues and teals. and it has grown up with each of our 3 girls. Great part of it is, if we had a boy, it is JUST as boyish and it's fun, bright, and a has a lot of pizzaz.
love this idea! I can see a child's name written in the style of 'BUMP!' :)
Tiffany blue and Cherry red was my nursery choice since I didn't know boy or girl. Had 2 girls. They loved it. I turned it into a guest room with a black twin spindle bed with a trundle, cherry red sheet and a quilt. People love to staying in there.
It is a lovely mix of colours and it reminds me of some Native art of the Pacific Northwest.

my living room is similar: aqua and teal FLOR tiles on white 'birch' laminate floors; red lampshade; red fabric drawers in a white Expedit-like shelving unit; red entertainment unit. am considering an aqua ceiling or wall. i didn't realize i was so subconsciously influenced (i am a public librarian).
I've always loved red and light blue as a color combo. That's be a color combo for a car. Fiat had that color combo available for the Fiat 500 for a time, in Europe in recent years. the sears were either red cloth, or leather.
I've also seen darker blues with red interiors in cars too, like vintage Amazon Volvos.
This room would be a good place to show off my moss-covered, three-handled family gradunza.
