Hi Home Tech,
I've been virtually blind since I was a child and as a result I currently own an enormous digital clock radio with gigantic numbers. I had Lasik in November (yay!) and can now use a normal, stylish alarm clock. Problem is I can't find anything I like! Can you recommend something modern, stylish and easy to set?
Thanks,
Robin

Hi Robin,
Very exciting changes for you! Seems that stylish alarm clocks have been on the brain at AT, because both AT Chicago and AT LA have done recent alarm clock posts. Between those two posts, you have 21 options...and we'll add a few more we like here in range of prices and styles, and we're sure our readers will add even more options for you!

This beautiful Mother-of-Pearl option is from Restoration Hardware.

The fabric can be changed to coordinate with your decor, making this option from SUCK UK definitely stylish. (You can use this converter set to be able to plug it in here in the U.S.)

Using a motivating picture and a motivating message, the Motiwake Alarm Clock also serves as your personal cheerleader.
A few more:
• MP3 Player Alarm Clock; you load MP3s onto it via USB cord.
• Philippe Starck designed this modern alarm clock/weather update, which is on-sale for the rock-bottom price of $12, originally $50.
• Tivoli Radio Model 3, at Target.
• Teeny-tiny travel alarm clocks from Bed, Bath & Beyond, in case you want to flaunt your ability to see tiny things every morning.

i prefer this one:

dual alarms, very easy to set, & great sound. Plus, you set the time for wakeup with the tuning dial so it's very speedy to change rather than cycling through numbers.
I bought this one, after years of gigantic and annoying digital alarm clocks:

I love my Ikea Slabang
complete sensory deprivation, one button easy use, doesn't require a plug so you can grab as needed, and voice record so I can leave myself a message as to WHY i should actually get up ("10 am mtg in Virginia"). or once in a while get surprised by a loved one's secret message.
The wooden block clock featured in both top 10 lists is just the coolest looking thing though.
I love the look of the Moonbeam clock. Too bad I have to keep my alarm clock on the opposite side of the room to force me out of bed, so it wouldn't work.
Anyone know of a good, reasonably priced ($50 and under) atomic clock? The sort that sets itself and changes appropriately for DST... I need to replace my 20 year old clock because the LED is starting to flicker.
I have a Cubissimo which I love. It shows time, date, temperature and day of the week and is very unobtrusive.
Take a look here
Thanks, everyone! I am going to try the Philippe Starck for now. (and at $12, i can always change my mind if it doesn't work out)
The Starck multi-function looks amazing, but $325 is a bit steep for a bedroom alarm clock.
I also LOVE the wood LED clock (have been drooling over it for the last year), but I don't think it has an alarm.

Yes - thank you so much for this. I'd almost forgotten that my wife and I needed this since we'd had such bad luck finding one before (resorted to the alarm on my BlackBerry).
Ordered the Starck from Oregon Scientific - $18.95 w/shipping. Nice!
