New Kitchen Cabinet Knobs That Will Cover Marks from Old Ones?

Good Questions

Q: I'm looking to give my cabinets a facelift by replacing the hardware. The current knobs have a 2" wide backplate and have left a nice, permanent groove in the wood, which means I need to find another 2" wide diameter knob to fill those spots.

Since this photo was taken, we've replaced the blonde laminate floor with a darker, more nuanced hardwood. Black appliances, silver faucet. I don't know whether to go black, silver, clear, or colored with the new knobs! Any suggestions?
