I Just. Don't. Get. the animal heads. Is this a 'thing' now?
Tulips at Christmas?
Ok, I just erased a really crappy comment. Merry Christmas.
ITA with Stormi. That and the animal hide rugs - those are two trends I'll be more than happy when they're done. Don't care if they're faux or not. Just no appeal for me.
Love them all, especially photo # 1. So pretty!
I wish I had a mantel.
A lot of these look like fire hazards. The first one is my favorite--I'm a sucker for traditional decorations at Christmas!
Wish they had included some more examples of MCM no-mantal fieplaces.
#1: so pretty, modern and stylish.
all i want for christmas? that girard nativity set in #11.
What I'm wondering about #1 is how in the world they got that heavy looking cascading garland to stay in place! I'm always fighting the garland falling down. :( Also, is it just me or are there a lot of dead animal parts involved? Still love all of them, though.
We don’t have a mantel either… (unusual for a Victorian home.) But I used our dining room’s china cabinet as a stand-in. It lacks the warmth of a fireplace… but if you cover anything with enough garland/holiday stuff it looks nice…
If anyone has a source for something similar to the large, silver-looking buckets the tulips are in, I’d love to know. (4th pic, top row.)
I agree, I need some examples of non-mantel fireplaces!
I've been looking for a mantel decoration picture that would actually make me want to decorate it for the holidays, and #1 is it (minus the deer). Asymmetry kicks ass!
Hunters have been using animal heads, and hides for years so it's an old tradition. If you don't like don't look.
How about #11
