While I was browsing through the inspiring and beautiful portfolio of photographer Ngoc Minh Ngo, I noticed a beautiful and powerful trend of flowers incorporated as part of the decor. I'm not talking about fresh flowers on a table, I'm talking about a floral motif on rugs, curtains and everything in between.
The first image is full of flowers and instead of getting an overwhelming vibe, it simply exudes femininity and fun. A little more subtle, the second image shows a tiny yet floral piece of art hanging above the bed. It's an extremely simple yet impactful way to incorporate some flower power.
The last three images take a somewhat traditional route by squeezing the flower power into the rugs. The first is the most modern of the three and the flowers are almost abstract. The big yellow buds are bold enough to stand up to the rest of the elements in the room, but would also work really well in a more subdued environment. The last two images are as traditional as you can get. One features a graphic black and white silhouette of flowers while the other has pale pink roses to offset the dramatic piece of art above the sofa.
There are many different ways to incorporate flowers into your decor. You can get as bold or traditional as you want, it's all a matter of just how much flower power you want in your home!

Shaw's Original Fir...
This is probably a far off shot, but does anyone know where that bedspread in the first pic came from? I'm in love with it.
Rug in third pic please??? I would love to know where to get it.
Florals are so attractive that it's easy to overuse them. I overused them to the point that I got sick of them. I took a long break from them. I'm back to using them, but only in moderation. Florals are very pretty, and join the indoors to the front and back gardens here.
Love love love this! Since I have a very floral room with flower covered blanket, rug and art on the walls :)
I agree with crazydoglady. I really want to know where the bedspread in the first photo comes form. it's lovely.
I love the print in the first photo too, would love to get the pillows.
Is anyone else tired of looking at Betsey Johnson's apartment (#4)? I loved it the first 1,000 times, thanks
My favorite element in this set is the wall art in the first photo.
it's not exactly the same, but pottery barn has a duvet set that's very similar to the print in the first picture. the colors are brighter though. it's on super clearance right now too.
Where's the painting in the 1st photo from? Beautiful.
I'm fairly certain that the print (and possibly the textiles too) is from artist Kim Parker.
Can we agree as friends to never use "impactful"?
Please?
Oh, thank you, JosieDaisy! You said it much more graciously than I would have. It ain't a word.
(Can we also please put an end to "impact" used as a verb? That's really, really awful, too, only appropriately used in a certain unpleasant obstructed digestive context...)
I love the duvet cover in the first photo, too!
I'm very sorry folks, but the last room is OK, until you call that thing on the wall ART. I also love the coverlet in #1.
I love using florals for decorating but feel it's important to be careful using them in small spaces. Large florals can make a small space seem smaller.
Wow - that first one looks pretty similar to my duvet cover!
My last three duvet sets have been floral. Before this one, there were the yellow, orange, and green poppies, and before that (when I was in my teens), it was blue, white, and yellow daisies. I think my current riot of colours and abstract-y design is my favourite.
