Suggestions for a Tiny Landing?

Q: My teeny tiny house is 85 years old and it has a strange landing at the top of the staircase. Is there anything really interesting I can do with it besides hang a piece of artwork? To the left of the landing is my bedroom and to the right is my bathroom and an office beside the bathroom. The dimensions of the floor space of the landing are 32" deep x 26" wide. From floor to ceiling the height is 8'1".

Editor - Outside of artwork, one of the best options will be shallow, wall mounted shelves or picture ledges. Though these are often used for artwork, we've seen examples of them used to display books: Look! Books-as-art-as-colorblocks!

Anyone else have suggestions?
