While there are plenty of things to miss about the golden age of travel, suitcases — the hard cases with great shapes — that were replaced by the more convenient rolling modern suitcases now preferred, are missed by us. What style these great older suitcases possess!
But the suitcases that no longer serve us in our travels to far off and exotic locales need not be wasted. They can most certainly be used indoors in our decor for a delicious taste of travel in your home whenever you're stuck where you are. And because of their very nature and shape, they are excellent ways to add stackable storage to rooms. Whether spotted in vintage stores, on Craigslist or passed-down as a family heirloom, use them to replace conventional furniture like nightstands, side tables and more.

As furniture, this is a no for me, but I do love the romance of a well-traveled old case!

They work well enough for Karen & Tim; not the other three.
This is so 2004.
It used to not be my style either. Then my MIL gave me an original Louis Vuitton that she got in a Nantucket thrift store in 1970 for fifty cents. I tried it out in my living room and kind of like it.
Meh...I still fail to understand the appeal of this: having to undo the stack to access something in the bottom suitcase, and because the mustiness gets absorbed in everything stored in there.
There's a sense of romance to this, but I don't think the look is quite for me.
