Having spent the weekend lounging around in the park, at the beach and by a pool, my mind is still outside. The wall to wall underfoot hardly registers as I tap tap tap away on the keyboard. So running across this image of a brightly painted floor of foliage made me think of deck floors, bathroom floors, entryways and kitchens. Instead of a bold rug or bold walls, go with a bold floor:
A good DIY for people who already have painted floors. To get a similar look make sure to start with a glossy white floor and then get creative with organic shapes in 5 shades of green. I'd love to see something like this on a small deck or a bright entryway.
And if you love the color palette of white, black and green check out the blog door sixteen for lots of the minimal but fun palette.

very pretty!
i feel like this would make me very happy in the morning..
what surface is the floor? hardwood?
Painting the back patio has been on my to-do list for a while. I like the example above, though I would paint the background brown to hide dirt.
