Summer Spheres: Beach Ball Decor

Pool parties, popsicles, and the smell of sunblock take me back to childhood summers. But nothing does so as instantly as a beach ball. Lately, a few have been popping up as decor in Miami hotels. If you love the colors and whimsy of this summer staple, here's how to bring some beach balls into your space.

1 Lord's South Beach, a gay boutique hotel in Miami, is not shy about bright colors and statement pieces. Sunny yellow and cool turquoise dominate the palette. This shiny white bear holding a neon beach ball sets the tone in the lobby.

2 Also in South Beach, Townhouse Hotel is all cool whites with a pop of power red. The beach ball adornment on the beds are more than decoration; a few steps outside of the hotel and you're on the sand.

3 About 60% of you thought these TOBYhouse beach ball lamps should be deflated, but I'm a fan. £275 is a bit pricey for this much kitsch, but I see IKEA hack potential.

4 I love the vintage vibe of the bathing beauties in this Beth Carver art print. Joy radiates from their expressions, and that's the spirit of summer that I associate with beach balls.

5 If you're feeling crafty, here is a cute pillow project from Sew Homegrown that adds a touch of the beach to your decor.
