Name: Summer
Location: Scottsdale, Arizona
The condo complex was built in the 1960's, so my inspiration came from mid-century modern architecture and all the modern classic furniture from that era. I purchased the condo 3 years ago and renovated the entire interior (photo 5 is a before pic). I wanted to lighten and open up the space, so I changed the layout of the kitchen to open it up, and painted all the walls white. That made a huge difference in making the space feel bigger.
I have worked at Design Within Reach for over 3 years and have been fortunate enough to collect some fabulous pieces of furniture throughout the years. I also scored a vintage Eames lounge purchased back in 1958 from a family friend who had the chair sitting in their garage!
Thanks, Summer!

I love what you did removing the half-walls between the kitchen and main room. Love the counter!
Holy Howling Coyotes - The "Before" was awful!
Congrats for seeing past the Terracotta & sponge-painting!
Love your place. Very cool! But what I am most curious about is the bedding that is barely visible. Who makes it? I have this great peach colored mid-century bed that I can not find bedding for. Pls help. Thanks.
Where were the counter stools sourced from?
I love it and want to see more! Any more pics on flickr or elsewhere? I'd love to see more of the bedroom and kitchen details. May I ask what cabinets and countertops you used?
GREAT job!
Great job! very sophisticated. Who is the artist for the painting?
I love the painted brick wall. So crisp. White done right.
Obiously we are going to need to see more. That was such a tease.....
What a remarkable transformation. Congrats.
yes, great transformation. the white makes the space look bigger & brighter & the ceiling higher.
Very nice. Full tour please.
Very cool! Quite a nice transformation into open light space.
Great open concept space. The lighting works well...too bad the condo is in Arizona, that great bastion of open-mindedness.
This is a truly inspiring and impressive transformation. It's amazing that you could see this beautiful space in that drab, stucco-from-hell hole.
the Eames chair is amazing. one of my favorite pieces from the Eames bothers.
Wow, this is an incredible redo! It looks AMAZING, and it is especially striking when you look at the horrible before pic! It takes vision to do that. Love all your choices for the space, it looks so chic, modern, and comfortable. I hope you entertain a lot, because this looks like the perfect place for a cocktail party. Beautiful job.
