One quick way to spruce up the outdoors is to clean the existing furniture and then add some fun fabric. We love Sunbrella fabric since it's made for the outdoors (it's durable enough to be used as awning or umbrella fabric) and there's only one place we really shop for it:

Our favorite Sunbrella resource is F&S Fabrics on Pico near the Westside Pavillion (There are 3 different F&S's all around the same block of Pico, so make sure you go into the main store for Sunbrella). They have aisles and aisles of the stuff and you can walk around and cut the swatches yourself to take home and see which would work best. Since the fabric can be kind of pricey we like making a single pillow or recovering a chair cushion in something fun and durable.

Phew for a second there I thought you guys were saying we should sew up our own umbrellas!? Has anyone ever done that?
Calico Corners in Studio City also carries the full line, its a fabric store on the north side of Ventura Blvd, a block east of Coldwater Canyon and Ventura, right next to Jerry's Deli.
I think Diamond Foam and Fabric on La Brea has a pretty good selection too.
Sunbrella works perfectly well for indoor furnishings too - such as replacing worn cushions on vintage Danish Modern seating.
How timely! I just spend an hour last night looking for an orange sunbrella or equivalent fabric in the upholstery weight (not marine). Haven't found quite the orange we want so I will have to go to F&S!
We love the stuff. We upholstered our dining room chairs in them

I would check out the Sunbrella at High Fashion Home.

There is a lot more Sunbrella available that isn't shown online.
