Sun Print Silhouette

Reader Project

Who hasn't had fun with sun print paper? While elements of nature (leaves, branches, etc.) are the usual sun print favorites, why stop there? Ohdeedoh reader Gillian sent us an e-mail and shared her DIY for some terrific sun print silhouettes. You don't have to be Man Ray to create these fun and simple beauties.

Gillian writes on her Web site, "Since it's spring there are no end of little flowers and plants to make sun prints but I had been toying with the thought of making silhouettes and the idea of using the sun print paper to do them popped into my head when I saw the paper sitting there on the shelf."

Gillian took a photo of her kids' profile, and printed them on heavy paper. After cutting them out, she applied them to the paper and voilà -- instant sun print silhouette.
