Super Simple DIY Stool: Use a Bath Mat!

Did you check out yesterday's house tour — Chris & Roger's DIY + Modern Farmhouse? They had so many amazing DIY ideas in their home, but there was one that really caught us off guard and it's something so simple anyone could do. Could this be just the quick "oomph" your home needs before hosting lots of guests for the holidays?

As we walked into the Stout-Hazard dining room, we couldn't help but feel like that stool we were looking at seemed familiar. We certainly loved the pop of texture it brought to the space...but where had we seen something like that before? Then it hit us...a CB2 Cirrus Rug! Hah! A favorite of modern homes for its bold pops of color to choose from and that plush, fluffy feeling under foot, we just loved that they came up with this imaginative way to use it.

You can find full instructions on how to adapt a bath mat onto a stool of your choosing on their website Design Hazards (as well as a lot of the how-tos for their home projects all in one post) , but as you can imagine, it's pretty easy. The trick here is checking out all of Chris and Roger's tips on creating this project smoothly.

And in case you missed it yesterday, you're going to want to check out all the amazing photos of Chris and Roger's home including every single resource for every single piece of furniture and accessory! This is seriously one of the most DIY-inspired house tours we've had in awhile; take this opportunity to incorporate some of their great ideas into your home!

The real question is, where are you gonna start using bath mats in your home now...other than your bathroom floor, of course! Have you ever used a bath mat in an imaginative way in a DIY project before? Let us know!
