The Sony KDL-XBR10 LCD has a lot going for it: a Kate Moss slim profile, native 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, wireless HD streaming, Motionflow 240Hz for smooth fast motion display, built-in video content streaming from Amazon, YouTube and Netflix, and some ambiant, eye-easing LED backlighting. All quite enticing...
...until you get to the $5,000 and $4,500 MSRPs for the 52" and 46" (KDL-52XBR10 and KDL-46XBR10 will be available this October). But if you want a wireless and super slim profile setup, this might be your ticket, since gaming and home entertainment components are connected via a wireless box setup which erases the need for dangling wires or drilling into the wall.
Of course, at that price, we'd be more apt to recommend a pull down projection screen partnered with one of those new sub$1000 1080p projectors from Optoma (which we're oggling and considering ourselves). Bigger picture and less footprint, even when considering the Sony KDL-XBR10 very impressive slim profile.

Definitely would be great with my 32" XBR9 and 40" XBR5 :)
It would be nice to see a true profile shot. These Sony press shots conveniently don't let you see how deep it actually is. Nonetheless, it still looks damn thin, and damn good. I don't think we will be seeing much thinner or nicer looking sets until OLED screens hit mainstream.
But it's still edge lit. I'd much rather have local dimming with a couple of extra inches.
will the wireless box that comes with support video games as mentioned with the next post on the phillips hdmi box?
