I love that dog on the second row. Awww.
I love all animals really, but since I've never actually had a dog I guess I consider myself a cat person.
I always thought I was a dog person but I couldn't have been more wrong. I love waking up to the sounds of "meow" in the morning.
I always thought of myself as a dog person and never really like cats (they didn't seem to like me either). Then 3 years ago I got a little black kitten and named him Trip. Since then I have become a cat person and added our white cat Kaylee to the mix. I still like dogs but I have a feeling there will always be cats in my home.

I'm a Shiba inu person - if you can't decide between a cat or a dog, you might consider a Shiba. It's a cat you can take for walks, but can't let off the lead and Dog help you if you want to give it a bath...

I am an animal person. Its not home without something fuzzy laying around.
i like both cats and dogs- buy dogs seem to listen better and actually obey when you say "no".
my cat is INSANE! hahaha
my family was 100% pro dog until we moved into a house that had a cat living in it already. She had 3 kittens in our laundry room and dissapeared a few months after. 1 of her kids is still around 6 years later and now in addition to my family's 2 cats, i have my own at my place and a beautifully sweet stray that has adopted our porch as her home. We still have two wonderful dogs, but cats are now just as loved.
I love cats and dogs, but my connection with my dogs is like ...I can't explain, but the love is just somehow much deeper for dogs with me.
I have both and I love all of them!
Both. they balance each other. dogs make you feel loved, cats keep you humble
Wow.. that black cat looks EXACTLY like mine.
crazy..
Both! I have a cat that behaves like a dog, and a dog that behaves like a cat.
Dogs are too much like children. Give me children and cats any day. (BTW, how did you get that picture of my cat (top right) on my new carpet...?)
Sure, you can take a dog in a car without a freak-out and play fetch on the beach and all that but I cannot figure out why anyone wants to follow a dog around and pick up turds twice a day. Plus they smell bad. I have never met a dog that doesn't smell bad. Cats rarely smell bad unless they are seriously ill.
Cats are much funnier too; of course they have "stuffonmymutt.com" but come on, everyone knows no one really likes it half as much as stuffonmycat.com.
Both. I miss the presence of a dog now I live by myself; and although the cat is an excellent and much loved companion, my life (and house) won't be complete until there's also a dog here. Unfortunately, my house is much to small for my taste in dogs (think newfoundlanders and other comparable sizes) so that'll have to wait a few years.
I'm a cat person, but I enjoy the company of other people's dogs. I just don't want one myself because (a) I live in a fifth floor apartment and I'd only want a dog if it could go in and out as it wanted to all day, (b) I work too much to pay attention to the kind of energetic dogs I prefer, and (c) I don't have the patience to groom something that goes outside and brings in bugs and dirt.
I really don't understand people who feel the need to disparage dogs or cats and/or their owners just because they prefer the other animal. That just seems juvenile.
CATS RULE
DOGS DROOL
It's hard to love a creature you're totally allergic to: in my case, cats.
Cat! So mysterious and slick - and they are wonderfully loyal and amorous, it's true!
i came home from work today and one of my cats came bounding out of the bedroom exclaiming "meow-ow-ow-ow" and jumped up on the back of the couch so he could get his hugs. Hugged him...walked into the bedroom and my other cat started purring, even though she had been napping and didn't want to get up :) I love cats....but I also love dogs! Though I don't really want to own one because they do tend to smell and need too much attention....
I do not like cats. I also do not like animals inside. Therefore no pets for me until I live in a house with a big enough backyard.
I vote both. Especially when they're jumping on each other's heads at 5:30 in the morning.
But seriously, my little black cat and little black dog are best friends. It can happen.
It is not that hard to love an animal you are allergic to!
I went 5 years without a cat for allergy reasons, then got one. Then got two. Now looking back on those 5 years, they look bleak and lonely by comparison. Also, I think if I hadn't waited so long, I might not be the crazy, showing-pictures-of-my-cats-to-strangers person that I am now.
I think that we have pets because we need someone to bother us. My cats are an absolute nuisance and I love them to pieces. Is that the bad-boy thing in another form?
I love all animals big and small. Since living in a zoo is out of the question I live happily with my pug. And he's definitely a catdog!
I had dogs as a kid and plan to have more when I get settled in my life. I used to like cats, but after living w/ roommates who had cats I've changed my mind. dogs love unconditionally and their loyalty is not a character trait that I've found to be true w/ cats. w/ a dog in the house, you know that they are nearby and will come to you when you call. cats on the other hand can be gone all day and will only be interested in you when he needs something from you, such as food. I find that selfish love of cats to be a burden. why do I want to feed and care for an animal that does not love me freely? if I wanted someone who was going to be so ungrateful, I would've had teenagers. dogs rules and so do birds, because they can become as attached to as dogs do.
All this tells us is that cat-people are more likely to answer online surveys. My own excuse being that I can't get up until she moves out of my lap.
Cats are the Republicans of the animal world.
I just lost a dog... it's so sad.
I read an article about the reasons behind dogs being man's best friends and why we're so attach to them. It was really interesting and it makes sense.
I read it through my crying eyes, so I think it was interesting.
Are you serious? You think dogs smell and cat's don't? There are few worse smells than the smell of cat pee and litterbox. The reason why a lot of dogs smell is because they never get a bath. I keep mine brushed and bathed and he doesn't smell.
"I do not like cats. I also do not like animals inside. Therefore no pets for me until I live in a house with a big enough backyard."
Wow. How about no pets for you, period? Unless you're in a warm climate and you provide sturdy outdoor shelter for a pet, you just shouldn't have one.
Cat person. I adore dogs, but would never take in something I have to walk and poop-scoop.
Cats and dogs are equally wonderful. Don't forget that birds make wonderful pets too. They are a lot of fun on every level.
