We have to admit, we're a little behind to still be thinking about calendars. We saw so many amazing and beautiful calendars in various blog roundups this year, but few of them had enough writing space for us...
Although my husband and I both keep our own individual planners as well, we like having a family calendar so we can both see various events, or jobs we might have in one place. So rather than just a pretty picture and the dates, we actually need a calendar with plenty of space to write. We usually pick a very clean, basic white one up at Staples, but were hoping to find something a little prettier (like the one shown above from Susy Jack).
How about you? Do you keep a family calendar on the wall? If you're also a little behind (hey, usually calendars go on sale after the new year so it might work in your favor if you find any left!), check out the roundups over at Decor8.

we keep a shared family google calendar. it works out really well. no need to buy a new one every year and we us eit to keep track of everything from work schedules to doctors appointments to family birthdays. and we can set up email alerts to remind us of upcoming items. it's a lifesaver.
We love good design but all the "pretty" calendars we found were just too small to be of use. Then we found these on etsy:

This is our second year with this calendar. We love it. Our kid can color the pages, the top part gives room for reminders that don't have a time/date, and there's tons of room in each daily square. Plus it fits our kitchen decor.
Yay for Daisy Janie!
love love love the calender in the picture, where is it from? must buy if within price range (zombie voice)
We also have the family google calendar. Or several, actually: one for him, one for me, one for the family, one for birthdays and anniversaries, and one for extended family events (such as when my mother or sister travels and will be out of town). The hardest part was getting my husband used to checking it daily, but it's great now that he does. (There's even one for our menu plans, but that's a work in progress.)
Yes, please tell us about the calendar in the picture!
It is from Suzy Jack...listed above. Here is the link. http://susyjack.bigcartel.com/product/2010-deluxe-wall-calendar
We use two framed dry erase board calendars one for the current month and one for next month). I like that you can erase if needed. I hung them with wire so after one month ends all I need to do is switch places with the old month.
We usually have a small one, to check dates in upcoming months and to record thing far in advance. We also have a dry erase calendar on the fridge (one month at a time), and its been the best thing for us, since our weeks can fill up fast and change just as fast. Best $10 I've spent. I didn't see any calendars I loved in any calendar round-ups this year, that would be big enough to write in, but I love that Daisy Jane one, thanks for the tip Pomefranny!
After my daughter was born I just went crazy about all sorts of photo gifts. So this year I got 4 calendars printed from various photo printing services..err..make that 5.
My fav is one from shutterfly, it has the birthdays and anniversaries of all mine and hubby's relatives and friends, complete with their phone numbers, so I don't have to search for phone numbers when I want to wish somebody.
I loved the idea so much that I got one made for my brother, and also for a friend on his b'day, they all love it.
we have a giant chalkboard calendar in our kitchen. Everyone's school activities, doctor appointments, etc. go on the calendar. Having it in the kitchen where we walk by it all the time helps keep us all organized.

We have the MomAgenda weekly calendar on the fridge. It has a column for each day and a row for each of the four of us, plus a fifth row I use to plan dinner. My hubby and I also use google calendar. We each can see the other's work calendar and we share a family calendar for kids/family events.
I finally gave up my individual Franklin Covey agenda/planner this year. Since my ipod touch syncs with my google calendar, having a paper version got to be redundant and confusing. Two weeks into the year it's working OK so far, although I haven't figured out the best way to make a To Do list...
google calendars has been a family savior for us. One for her, one for him and one for us...all visible on our iphones. the only downfall is that we rely on it so much, that if we fail to post an event or appointment, it will get missed.
We also use Google Calendars. Not pretty, but it works great and we can access it from anywhere we have cell access.
