AT:Home Tech reader Juice wants to know...I'm curious: Do people share their passwords with their spouse/ significant other? I'd be tickled pink to see a poll on this subject.
I do not share my personal password, but we have a password that we use for joint access sites.
I have neither a spouse nor significant other, but have shared my password, PIN, etc. with a select few close friends.
we share some - like for our bills that are only in one person's name
No. But not because of privacy issues. My SO hates tech.
As someone who does tech support for a living, I can tell you that sharing your passwords can potentially lead to headache and trouble. This is true both for you and the tech support agent who has to straighten out your account after your jilted ex-lover logs in and changes/deletes everything.
Only do it if you're in a committed, long-term relationship. Don't give it out to your gf/bf of two months. ;)
i share some of my passwords with my SO but not all of them. Some passwords I have are just work related passwords.
Yes, but its on an as needed basis. We both switch our passwords regularly (as you should too), so don't always keep the other person updated. It's not from a privacy issue, but just from a time issue.
HELL no. It's not that we don't trust each other, we just respect each other's privacy. No matter how involved we are with each other, we are still separate people and still need some things to be separate. Plus, as mentioned above, if we ever break up? The ramifications could be horrifying. Remember War of the Roses?
