We've been noticing some patterns in color schemes: secondary colors in Richard Robert's Orange, Purple Green Oasis; primary colors (red, blue and yellow) plus green in the Modern Classic home shown in Home & Design; and accents of orange and green in Yokie's Updated Pops of Color. I really enjoy warm tones. I find that it makes a home feel inviting.
I answered secondary, although I think they're too much if all used together. Living room in my apartment is green and purple with cream and black neutrals, dining and kitchen are simple shades of green, my bedroom is green and orange with brown and white neutrals, and my roommate has done her bedroom in purple with black, white and fushia. I've always thought of it being a somewhat consistent color story, with each room a different variation, but I didn't realize that all of our main colors were secondary colors until just now. That makes a lot of sense.
I'd have to say analogous and monochromatic. I like colors that have a close relationship to each other. I like my decor to have contrast with texture and value much more than with color. My dining and living rooms are mostly different shades and tints of green with some silver and peacock blues as accents. My bedroom is light silver blue, dark blue and green. My sons' room is the only room with really bold colors- complementary colors- red and green.
It depends on the architecture. Robin's egg blue, for instance, looks gorgeous in neo-classical homes, but like a swimming pool changing room in a low-ceiling modern apartment.
I gravitate toward blues and greens, and the combo I can't stop using is either of those cool tones with pops of orange.
My bedroom is pale green-blue and gray with orange in a few spots; my kitchen has lots of colors, but the same combo appears; even my living room is burnt oranges and olive greens.
Looks like someone forgot to close their italics tag..
spa colors are my favorite go to scheme.
does anyone else have the problem of liking every color? i love so many color combos that i cant decide which direction to go for decorating my living room!

I have the same issue. I love almost all colors. I tend to go towards bolder schemes, especially ones that have a dark color that deepens the scheme, like chocolate brown, navy blue, charcoal gray or black. Erin, I would say that you should take a look around at the things you already have in your living room and go from there. Maybe there's a pillow or a rug that you absolutely love- you can start with colors from that, then coordinate other colors that go with it.
