Name: Susan & Matt Sandler
Location: Bedford, New Hampshire
Susan is an interior designer who studied design and architecture in Boston and recently relocated back to her cozy hometown of Bedford, New Hampshire. She and Matt bought this 1940's ranch a few years ago and make all of their design decisions mindful of the home's architecture.
The sturdy lines of the ceiling beams, the blocks of large windows and the glossy wood floor boards are simple, clean and classic. Their personal touch of flowing drapes in the living room, a collection of seashells in the bathroom, and a hand-painted sideboard in the dining room — that has been in her family for three generations — brings warmth and depth to the space. The piece above the sideboard was a local consignment store find and she recovered the dining room chairs with fabric she found for $10. When she's not designing, she's curled up with a book on her sofa which gets the best natural light for reading.

Their living room and dining room look so warm and inviting - Would love to see it decorated for Xmas.
I would love to have wood beams like that, they just warm up the space so much!
I love everything about the third photo - especially the art. Can anyone provide more information about it?
great dining room and office envy.
It does totally beg for some festival holiday decorating, doesn't it?!?
Hey, where did you get that white side table in the first photo? I have been looking for something just like that.
Full tour, please!
I love this house and so many of its great details! Where did the curtains from photo #1 and the orange towel from photo #5 come from? Anyone know?
I adore the orange graphic hand towel in the bathroom. Please tell me where it's from. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I love the lamp above the table in the second photo - where did it come from? It looks like a potentially doable DIY . . .
Would love to see a full house tour!
Hi Susan, love your place! Will you please share where your curtains are from? I've been looking for something similar and would love to know your source! Thanks in advance.
Thank you for all of the kind words!
Our home is always a work in progress...it looks so different already from when Tanya took these pictures!
As for your questions...
Most of the items are recycled and/or hand-me-downs...
The white side table with the lamp on it was actually built by my grandfather. It used to be a dark ugly brown, but a coat of white paint gave it new life.
The metal piece in the living room was purchased at a consignment shop in Manchester, NH. After doing a bit of research, it looks like it was made by MARC creates, out of St. Louis. I could not find this exact piece on his site, but his other works look very similar.
The curtains in the "sun room" were from a display at the Boston Design Center (where I used to work) that were going to be discarded! The rep for the manufacturer was there at the time and let me keep them. The fabric is by Osborne Little.
The orange towel in the bathroom I found at Homegoods.
Thank you again for all of the great feedback!
